Intelligent Plant Watering System

I am working on this system for last 2 years .The thinking process started when I used to water plants and asked myself how much water should be given .Then all question started coming to my mind like- Why , How ,What ,Whom etc .

Why : 

I wanted a system that could deliver water to my plants in appropriate manner and
in prescribed way so that no extra water is needed and can save water.Also it was
when due to time constraints and workloads I could not manage to give water to plants .
So I thought of making a system which will give water on time and  at regular intervals
in absence of caretaker.

How : 

The requirements were ready for the system to be made and hence started working with PLC based controllers to meet the demand . I could manage to make a system well working with this and with the help of drip irrigation material the system worked fine .Below are some site photos and the panel photos to understand the concept .

What :

The question is what I believe about the system is ,it works when you are not there ,it works when there is less availability of water , it calculates the day long work and works accordingly when there is power supply ( it helps where power is a real problem ) , it works with no human interference .

I strongly believe that these question could come to anyone's mind and may search for the solution 

Once I asked an old man next my door about how much water does he gives to his garden everyday

He said it is not measured and gives according to his experience.Then I asked if you don't give water and someone else gives water instead of you , whether it will be same ? he said No.

This answer gave me more push to my solution of watering plants .

I think this is the solution required for many people loving and helping nature in some manner .

Whom : 

This solution is for everyone living on this earth and giving back to earth 

Right from Farmers , agriculturists , Landscapers , Resorts with beautiful gardens , nurseries , home made gardens and the list goes on , all requires this kind of solution where there is water management involved .

I believe  that the most neglected issues of country like India is Water management and this solution can be extended to its limit for the betterment of country and a way to SMART City  

Whenever I read newspaper , I come across articles with certain areas having less rainfall this year and so the prices of commodities growing there are made costly by saying shortage for the demand 

But when I ask how much water do you need for watering this many acres of land for particular crop 

there is hardly any answer or very less knowledge for the requirement.

This means that right amount of water is never given and  never demanded .

I hope , I have well explained the problem with a little wise solution from my side
